Not only users of SharePoint online and SharePoint 2016 can use our solution to open and edit PDF files directly from the server. Now there is also a version for SharePoint Server 2019!

Good news for all those who manage their files using SharePoint Server 2019: If you use modern sites on your SharePoint Server 2019, you can use our context menu extension “PDFinApp” to open PDF files directly in your local PDF editor! This can be a PDF editor from Adobe, PDF-XChange or Foxit.

The tedious downloading, opening in the editor, changing, saving and re-uploading are replaced by a click in the context menu, the PDF file is automatically opened in your local PDF editor, you make your changes and save them. The PDF file is then stored again in SharePoint as a new version in the correct location.

The PDF editors also ensure that no one else can change the file while you are editing it (check-in and check-out). Here you will find a short video showing the processes.

The prerequisites for using our solution:

  • SharePoint Server 2019 with modern pages
  • PDF editor on the client (e.g. AdobeDC, PDF-XChange Editor, Foxit PDF Reader)

We look forward to supporting you with the introduction of our PDFinApp solution!
