Requirements & Challenges:

Signal Iduna is organized in the form of independent intermediaries and district offices. These use a common platform from the Signal Iduna Group for defined processes. However, the entire customer administration and the internal processes of the district offices are mapped with their own technical infrastructure. The SIGNAL IDUNA district office André Koslowsky in Dortmund operates its own small business server and uses it to manage document and file storage as well as e-mail traffic.

Reliable e-mail traffic with customers is of the utmost importance, and the company’s own infrastructure caused disproportionately high costs in order to guarantee constant error-free operation. The heterogeneous client environment consisting of Windows PCs, Apple devices, smartphones and tablets from different manufacturers also caused a lot of administration work, especially since the Microsoft Office installations on the employees’ desktops also had different versions.

Finally, a call center application integrated into Outlook is essential for accepting customer calls and processing customer concerns.

Result:

By switching to Office 365 Small Business, all e-mail traffic is routed via secure Microsoft servers with almost 100% reliability. At the same time, Office 365 Small Business offers the possibility of processing e-mails from all end devices, regardless of the platform, be it a Windows PC, MacBook, iPhone or Android smartphone. Even without a client application, processing is possible at any time using an Internet browser.

Thanks to the Office365 package, the current Office products are always available to all employees.
